"Hicks wear gingham"

(Dress: The White Pepper, Denim and sheep skin lined jacket: Topshop, Cowboy boots: Traditional Canadian ones, cable knit socks: Pringle)

Fully went for the farmer look with this one. It was too easy to do though. This denim jacket is the only type I really like. Denim jackets to me encourage suits of denim, which no matter how many times Gok Wan endorses, I still don't think I will be okay with. The fake fur kinda breaks it up, so if I did get a personality transplant and actually wore jeans then it might not look THAT bad. Who am I kidding? If you can't convince yourself it's time to go home. Great boots too, really sturdy, like a lobster- Lilo and Stitch 2002.

Come visit me again on Friday (for the last attempt making each outfit look different). Happy Halloween in the meantime!

"Hicks wear gingham"

(Dress: The White Pepper, wool hat: H&M, mock shirt: DIY, white heels: River Island)

Right, presenting 3 ways to wear the blogger-famous White Pepper smock dress. This outfit is the most common montage of how I have seen others wear it. i.e. bloggers: just wear a wide brimmed hat. Sorted. Hate the game guys. Love this blouse too, it's great having a short sleeved blouse in your wardrobe, they are the most functional shirt, this mock shirt that I DIY'd stops that lumpy appearance you often get when layering a shirt, and it isn't too warm like long sleeved shirts: double win.

Come back on Wednesday for outfit two.

Norwegian Wood

(Scandinavian style blouse & cut out suede skirt: Vintage, wooden platforms: Marni x H&M, knitted bows: DIY (not by me, I can't knit), purse: Mulberry bayswater)

Guys! Look at those shrooms! Obviously something is enjoying the wet weather we have been experiencing. How adorable are these knitted bows? My multi-talented friend made them for me. So thanks Missy, for the knitted goods and your photography patience. Apologies for the grainy pictures, taking them in falling autumn light was a bad idea, poor mr camera over-compensated for the darkness and resulted in a noticeable change in quality. oh well. You win some, you loose some.

Also, because I am feeling smart I want to draw attention to the linked song and it's relevance. The Beatles took drugs, some mushrooms, my top is Scandinavian and the pictures are in a wood. I am proud even if no-one else is.

I'm just a girl, just your typical prototype

(Fluffy lilac crop: ASOS, plaid silk skirt: TBA, White Leather bag: H&M, Suede wedges: ASOS, gold chain: Primark, Bow tortoiseshell bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs) #teenvogue

Oh Gwen, respect. There is something pleasing about dressing like an actual lady for a change. An 80's lady with a cropped jumper. I have posted this skirt before, I still love it and I still wish TBA would start making their items more accessible again. I miss them and their beautiful silk creations.

I think I'm losing where you end and I begin

(Striped dress and pumps: Zara, Chain necklace: Primark, Embellished belt: Vintage) #teenvogue

Back in my adopted home town Glasgow. I am not sure if it is more or less painful having my boyfriend still living there and getting to visit. It's similar to slowly pulling off that plaster, maybe never going back would have been ripping it off? As you can tell I am still not over being a student. Somewhere I never visited in my 3 years in Glasgow was People's palace which is conveniently 5 minutes from my boyfriends new flat. Well, not that convenient, we had to run through the creepy Barrowlands weekend market which is the kind of place that sells second hand dolls with no heads.

Oh Glasgow,

I love you, but you don't know what you're talking about

(Dress: ASOS, mock shirt: DIY, Gold Sandals: Swedish Hasbeens, frill socks: Topshop, bug necklace: eBay, weaved handbag: Vintage) #teenvogue

This little lighthouse is so cute, they are currently trying to convert it into a house which may be the best idea for a house ever- I wonder if they, like me, watched Moonrise Kingdom for inspiration? Imagine a living room in the lantern! So anyway, I shamelessly lurked in their driveway to take these pictures hoping to be subtle and none intrusive. However, small country road resulted in me having to use their land to turn around. I did pay in karma though, rescuing one of their sheep that had it's head caught in the wire fence. Oh well, Halloween outfit sorted Suzy Bishop, you have the best wardrobe!

Being reckless is fun when you aren't the one that gets hurt

(Tartan Skirt: Vintage, painted leather bag: Vintage, silk strappy top: ASOS, Platforms: Marni for H&M, Star necklace: Vintage, bracelets: DIY/ Vintage/ & other stories) #teenvogue

I swear I am re-adjusting my necklace in the first picture, not my boobs. This necklace is a stolen item from my sister, I think it is beautiful. I have had my eyes on this Pamela Love bracelet for ages now, even asking my boyfriend if we could use his dads welding equipment to make one. The necklace has little garnets inside and is just lovely. This skirt is another vintage find by my sister, it is very Cher Horowitz which is never a bad thing and fits really well for second/ third hand.

Favourite Things

(Pink: H&M x Lana Del Ray, Purple crop: ASOS, Mint: Nelly, White argyle: Topshop, Grey/ Blue: H&M Trend)

Pastel angora sweater fetish. I don't know what happened but I think I have a problem. The funny thing is, I have seasonally bad eczema, angora is itchy, keep buying jumpers made of it though. I love how cozy they are, and that they are a real kind of fluffy, not a man produced stringy fluffy like some jumpers are. Erm, Topshop. However, as anyone who has an angora anything will know, they do molt. Especially that grey one. Oh god, I wore it to work and spent most of my day looking through a grey haze of fluff. Not ideal, but clearly I can't say no. Need a pastel blue and yellow to finish the collection I think.

Like many girls I have had my eyes on the Moschino name plate belt for ages. One day it clicked that I was solely interested because of the branding on it, which is pretty shameful. Maybe people would think I was a fancy Chelsea frequenter if I had Moschino plastered all over my tummy. So I kinda gave up on the dream, then I found this little cutie. It is less of a I AM A DESIGNER ITEM, LOOK AT ME! It still says it but just in lower case. I like it as well because as an Emma, my name often gets shorted to M, also it looks like a superhero emblem which is pretty great. I asked my boyfriend what my super power would be, he said manipulation, which I am not sure is much of a compliment.

Home made pie- Pushing Daisy's inspired. Me and my sister went blackberry picking this afternoon, we were a little late in the season and they are getting a bit squishy so we made a blackberry and apple pie with douchey lattice weave.

How has your weekend been?

Smiles like a reptile

(Embellished low back top: Topshop, Leather snake skirt: ASOS, Purse: Mulberry, silver bands: Fashionologie, Silver Hairslide: New look) #teenvogue

This is the second time I tried to take pictures of this skirt, both were shot in a field, one was discounted due to my photographers shadow being in all the pictures, more often than not, in my crotch area- resulted in an unfortunate wet appearance. However, this skirt. Oh, this skirt deserves a good set of photos, it is beautiful. I feel like a fancy gecko, maybe one day my tail will grow back. Please say that any other bloggers continue to punish their long suffering boyfriends by making them take different sets of pictures? Give my baby comfort that I am not that high maintenance and that this set of pictures was worth the decomposing deer we had to walk past. I am still not over that myself.
